Yesterday was certainly a horrible day for Oakland Raiders’ player Chris Johnson.
NBC Sports reports the cornerbacker left the team for Texas on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 as a result of a horrible family tragedy: his sister and his mother had been shot; his sister Jennifer Johnson was killed and his mother Della Johnson is in severed condition.
The website says the shooter is the father of Johnson’s two-year-old niece. The child is said to have not been present at the time.
As a result of the incident, the 46-year-old Eugene Esters has been charged with murder and attempted murder.
There’s no word yet as to when Johnson can be expected to return.
